Introduction

Keeper ("we," "us," or "our") is a social ratings app for beauty and wellness services. This Privacy Policy explains what information we collect, how we use it, and your rights regarding your data. By using Keeper, you agree to the practices described here.

Information We Collect

We collect the following types of information when you use Keeper:

Phone number — used to create and verify your account via SMS OTP.
Name and username — used to identify you to friends within the app.
City preferences — used to personalize your discovery feed.
Ratings and reviews — the beauty service ratings, categories, rankings, notes, and provider names you log.
Visit photos — photos you optionally upload when logging a visit.
Friend connections — the connections you make with other users within the app.
Waitlist submissions — if you join the waitlist, we collect your phone number.

We do not collect location data, contact lists, or any information not listed above.

How We Use Your Information

To create and manage your account.
To show your ratings to your friends and mutual connections within the app.
To power your discovery feed with ratings from your network.
To send you an SMS verification code when you sign in.
To contact waitlist members when the app is available.
To improve the app based on how it is used.

How Your Ratings Are Shared

Your ratings are only visible to users you are friends with and their mutual connections within Keeper. They are never visible to the general public, search engines, or users outside your network. You can mark individual ratings as private at any time.

Third-Party Services

Keeper uses the following third-party services to operate:

Supabase — database hosting and authentication. Your data is stored on Supabase servers. See Supabase's Privacy Policy.
Google Places API — used to search for salons and beauty businesses. Search queries may be sent to Google. See Google's Privacy Policy.
Twilio — used to send SMS verification codes. Your phone number is transmitted to Twilio for this purpose. See Twilio's Privacy Policy.

We do not sell your data to any third party.

Data Retention

We retain your account data and ratings for as long as your account is active. If you delete your account, your data is permanently removed from our systems within 30 days, except where we are required to retain it by law.

Your Rights

You have the right to:

Access the personal data we hold about you.
Correct inaccurate information in your profile.
Delete your account and all associated data.
Export your ratings data upon request.

Children's Privacy

Keeper is not intended for users under the age of 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe a child has provided us with their information, please contact us and we will delete it promptly.

Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. When we do, we'll update the "Last updated" date at the top of this page. Continued use of the app after changes constitutes acceptance of the revised policy.
